tuam & galway to ?

Tuam and galway to where
We woke in the hotel at 9am it was great to get a good big double bed for the night .  I considered trying to clean the bath a bit as i had suncream on and bike oil and lots of beasties when i had my wash last night ! the bath had a ring ! we headed out of Galway up to the new motorway, the M17 ( the first time i went to Southern Ireland 30 year ago !it had only one motorway, the M1 Dublin to Belfast ) we had a slight issue finding my end of cycling point as Sheila headed a different way in the van and we met in the centre of town ,
all of which led to a navigational error cycling and driving out of Tuam. I noticed my mistake early and headed back into town to pickup the Athenry road which was our  Our next meeting spot , and it was a excellent cycle there. Along lovely country roads in the sun ,
I stopped to take pictures at the quiet man railway station ( a favourite film of my dads ) then met Sheila in Athenry, it's a nice town with a cool castle and lots of statues etc.
But we wanted to cover a bit of distance and reach Limerick that day , so i pushed on, no lunchtime pint today , the chosen route was perfect i had the best days cycling yet up quiet country roads in the sun, it was another lovely afternoons cycle
i eventually arrived at a place called six milebridge! which was lovely it was sunny there was an irish whiskey distillery, Powers whiskeys and a duck hotel ,
I had cycled enough it was late by then around 6pm ,time to get bed dinner and beers organised , after a little drive and look around we booked ourselves into the Wood Field Hotel ,just over the road from the gaelic football ground and walking distance to town , we had dinner there so i could use the wifi and leave the PC while we went into town for beers.
it was a good night out, the place was mobbed but we never knew the routine certain streets are for certain times of night.
we were in nancys bar first possibly the most famous in town and given a james joyce certificate as an authentic irish pub ,( i must read ulysis one day ) but it was quiet we moved on to flahertys and the another bar with a band , finishing up our night in loch bar which was my favourite of the evening ,but it was closing down as we arrived we had timed the bars wrong , nancycs gets busy late loch bar busy early argh well home time happy
