carndonagh to where ?

Started here I wore the spoggles all day but they didn't work as I lost too much peripheral vision ! Especially when trying to look behind !
We are used to sleeping in the top section of the van now and Sheila got up earlier than me made coffee and porridge and shoved them through the hatch and the wee side coffee hole ! a great find for me lie up on the roof and open this wee hole to receive a mug of coffee in bed , after coffee we walked into the village square to use the toilets but at 08:20 they were not open yet . the metal barred gates were padlocked shut ! i popped my head though the bars in need of a number two i could squeeze through those bars , yah beauty through no problem once i took my jacket off and sheila followed suit , all was well until we left, the caretaker was preparing to open up ! embarrassing moment or? what did you get locked in last night ? nope we squeezed through your bars like this ! sorry man we needed in ! closed means closed sir , yeh sorry about that scuttle off like a naughty school kid
Sheila dropped me off at the spot i finished cycling at last night and we parted.Away i cycled up past the huge convent on the hill that  looked like a basilica . There is so many churches, chapels, priories, convents in this country its enough to make even a confirmed atheist like me worry for his soul ! speaking of which Ireland is going through a vote on abortion just now and i could not even guess at how many posters, banners, billboards and white crosses, home made messages from the pro life group , i am being brainwashed by the mile ! you just can’t help reading the posts as you cycle past , apparently 1 in 5 babies in England are aborted ! i guess it's the same as the scotland ? i asked Sheila, who is a midwife, but she deals with a different aspect so couldn’t be sure ,
There’s also lots of roadside posters saying not to cut the grass as they are obviously having problem with a japanese non native invasive species , I’m sure i remember Linlithgow rugby club got the same species in their pitch, it caused mayhem ,
After a pleasant few miles cycle i met Sheila at a town on the border with northern Ireland called Muff, so i had the obligatory photos taken, it was then 10:40
we moved on, meeting again in a big petrol station diner , most of the petrol stations here have a spar and some of the bigger ones have a diner , this one was big and had a post office shop diner etc we had a bowl of soup and posted postcards before setting off again with a plan to meet at Letterkenny ,when i got there Sheila was waiting at the tourist info, she had done some research and i was still feeling fresh enough to cycle on as it was still early , we agreed to meet again at a place called Ballybofey ,when i got there Sheila was in a town centre carpark recommending we finish here for the day but it was only 3pm i didn’t want to finish here at that spot i would prefer to go to the outskirts of town at least , and thats what we done i cycled out of town for a couple of mile and seen her parked up outside the roadhouse bar (i love that film ) Sheila said put your bike on here and i will buy you a beer in the roadhouse , what man could resist that ? Shame there wasn’t any blues music playing but i had a lovely pint of cold Guinness ,
We had hoped to get to Donegal but that was 20km from the roadhouse , we had a pow wow and decided to go have a look at the camp site outside of donegal called Rossnowlaugh, once there we had our doubts right until we drove onto the beach and along to the slipway below the Smugglers Inn !
Why wouldn’t we stay here? It was fantastic, great weather, nice site, awesome beach and a cool bar for dinner ! once we had showered unpacked and got organised we walked along the beach for the Smugglers Inn , the bar next door called the Gaslight was shut which
was a shame because a girl we spoke to on the beach said it was better than Smugglers , and Smugglers was a fantastic place if a little pricey and pretentious , but we had a nice dinner and the sun was setting as we walked along the beach on our way back to the wee van.
