Ballybofee roadhouse to ?

Sheila got up early as she wanted a run and a swim along the beautiful beach we were parked up at , I opted to have an extra hours( and a bit more) sleep which i now regret i shoulda made the effort, it was a beautiful morning and the cold sea would have eased my tired leg muscles.

It was over 20km from our campsite back to the road house Sheila drove while i charged devices and took notes in my book ,we had not seen the site attendant we had phoned the number at reception to get the keypad code for the shower block and he said he would see us later but never turned up ! so we put the 15 euros in a envelope through reception door as we left

set of time was 10am and the weather was glorious i had to put on lots offset cream and the start of the days cycling was mostly downhill through a lovely mountainous part of donegal

I met up with sheila again at 12:45 in a place called ballyshannon and we had lunch in a cafe there ,and had a photo stop with a statue of rory galacher ,

we left ballyshannon at 14:15 with a plan to meet up at tonights destination rosses point campsite on the outskirts of sligo
whilst cycling there i stopped of to visit yeats grave on route in a pleasant church his poetry is a bit high brow for me but it was a pleasant stop , worth the visit for the celtic cross and bit of local history also

I cycled into the excellent camp site at 16:50 and sheila had the seats out van organised and a chilled beer waiting for me ,
the view over the bay from the van was lovely , we watched an open water swim event start before using our tokens for the showers and walking into town ,

there was 3 pubs/restaurants to choose from along the front but as soon as i walked into harrys i wanted to be in there not the posh driftwood , the problem was harrys didn't serve food and it was early for the drinkers , so we had dinner at the driftwood which was very tasty and pleasant very plush the food and surroundings , but i couldn't wait to get back to harrys which had real character there was all kind of sea paraphernalia everywhere and huge fish tanks with huge fish in them , i loved it , it was like a museum full of man junk you could spend hours looking at all the stuff and not see everything , and the beer and company was good also , we stayed later than we should and had a pleasant walk back to the van

      an all round excellent day
